DECK #451

The Witthuhn's had an existing deck on the second level and wanted to add a deck at the main story, and to make it work well with the walkout basement and patio area to the far right. The support posts that are fully painted white are the original posts for the upper deck; the rest were added, and the second level decking and railing were replaced to match the new work. The decking is Veranda™ Sanctuary line "Ipe" color. The rim is Trex™ composite 12" wide board; the railing is painted cedar; The spindles are aluminum. This arrangement will make it easy to take care of the railing with paint or touchup without having to worry about reaching the rim or doing any of the decking. It saved quite a bit of money to use a cedar chassis for the railing, since it's such a large deck.
